MUNBYN
Thermal Receipt Printer + Task printing software – 2025-12-11
I ordered an
80mm receipt printer off Amazon AU.

Once it
arrived, I set it up on Windows with the driver (Windows, MacOS, Linux and Raspberry
Pi drivers are available), and then shared the printer so all computers on my network can access
it.

The
printer has a feed button, as well as Power, Error and Paper-out indicator
lights.

It has a
standard 2-pin power cable, RJ11 port for cash register opening and a USB-B
port for data.
Here is a
video of the printer printing:

the auto-cutter leaves a little mark in the centre.

A useful
thing I have created with this receipt printer is a task-management software.
This was
inspired by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg45b8UXoZI

You can add
tasks and a description for each task, and then print them off all at once, or
individually.

Settings
are saved through an autocreated json
file in the same directory as the python file.
There are 3
different types of designs:
|
Simple |
|
|
Boxed |
|
|
Header |
|
Once a task
is completed, you can scrunch it up and chuck it in a glass jar.
This acts as
a visual representation of the work you have completed, and
helps you be more productive.
